DMG IWXXM-Monitoring

The IWXXM-Monitoring is part of the DMG-Monitoring Procedure. Detailed information on the whole procedure can be found in the EUR Doc 018, App. C.

When does the IWXXM-Monitoring take place?

The Warning Monitoring is part of the DMG-Monitoring which is performed each year from the 1st until the 14th February. Just like for the alphanumeric (TAC) OPMET data, the monitoring centres also collect information on the received IWXXM-messages. Based on this data different information can be retrieved.

The detailed specifications on monitoring IWXXM-messages can be found in EUR Doc 018, Appendix D, chapter D.3. The latest version of that document can be found on the ICAO-Paris Homepage (Path: EUR/NAT Documents / EUR Documents / EUR Documents / 018 - OPMET Handbook).

IWXXM-Version
This request will list all IWXXM-datatypes, how many distinct reports have been received and which IWXXM-versions where used. Higher numbers compared to the figures above can be seen as an indication that for some reports different versions were used.
Operational
This request will list all IWXXM-datatypes, how many distinct reports have been received and how many where defined as being an operational message, a test or an exercise. Also NIL-messages are counted. Higher number compared to the figures above can be explained with duplicated transmission as the underlying request is also considering the "TTAAii CCCC".
Translated
This request provides an overview on how many reports are translated. NIL-messages are not considered. Higher number compared to the figures above can be explained with duplicated transmission as the underlying request is also considering the "TTAAii CCCC".
Translation Failed
This request provides the number of all received reports of the different datatypes and how many of these included the inforamtion that the translation failed. Further investigation would be necessary to identify the reason and, where feasible, set appropriate actions.
Global Availability
This request provides the global availability per ICAO-region for all AOP-aerodromes. Reports which have been received only as NIL throughout the whole monitoring period are not counted as received
